Tema, Ghana – One of Ghana’s premier folk music and cultural ensembles, the Manklalo Cultural Band, is poised to deliver an unforgettable performance at the upcoming Tema Cultural Night, scheduled for Saturday, 29th September 2018, at Sanders Garden Hotel, Community 8. The event kicks off at 7:00 PM and is expected to draw hundreds of music lovers and cultural enthusiasts.
Founded by renowned percussionist Ashtey Lamptey and now led by the talented Comfort Amoah and Ebenezer Sarpong, Manklalo Cultural Band has long been at the forefront of preserving and promoting Ghana’s rich musical heritage. Known for their powerful blend of Ga Gome songs, the ever-popular Kolomashie and Kpanlogo recreational tunes from Accra, as well as Adowa cultural music, the group delivers performances steeped in tradition and meaning—all performed in both Ga and Twi dialects.
In keeping with their commitment to cultural authenticity, performers from the Manklalo Cultural Band will be adorned in traditional Ghanaian kente cloth, representing the diverse cultural heritage of Ghana’s many tribes. Their vibrant attire, paired with rhythmic drumbeats and spirited dance, promises an evening that celebrates unity, identity, and artistic expression.
According to Pin-Point Media, organizers of the event, the decision to spotlight Manklalo Cultural Band was based on their immense contribution to the Ghanaian music and cultural scene. “They have remained true to the roots of Ghanaian folk music and continue to inspire a new generation through their craft,” the statement said.
The 2nd Edition of Tema Cultural Night will also feature performances by guest groups from neighboring West African countries, creating a melting pot of regional sounds and shared heritage.
Prepare for an evening filled with color, rhythm, culture, and celebration—as the Manklalo Cultural Band brings the heart of Ghanaian tradition to life on stage.
